Where Our
Story Began
Futurise was born when we met a business owner whose accountant kept the books but offered no guidance. He didn’t understand his margins, break-even point, or how to grow sustainably—yet had entrusted his financial future to people simply checking boxes.
We saw what too many business owners experience: bookkeepers who record transactions but don’t explain the story behind them, and tax professionals who reduce liability but miss the bigger picture of growth.
That moment became our turning point. We knew business owners needed—and deserved—more.
Our Leadership Team
Helen Zhang, CMA, EA, CEPA, MBA
CEO, Partner
Helen brings a broad background in accounting, finance, operations, sales, and business value acceleration, with experience across food & beverage, manufacturing, and financial services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oregon State University and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
As a Certified Management Accountant, Enrolled Agent, Certified Exit Planning Advisor, and Certified Value Builder, Helen blends financial expertise with strategic insight to help business owners understand their numbers, improve performance, and build companies that are truly transferable.
Helen was recently honored with the 2025 Recent Alumni Transformational Leadership Award from Fuqua. She is also deeply engaged in community building and hosts the RDU SMB Meetups. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering with her family.
John Hoffman
CFO & Partner
John brings 30+ years of proven financial and operational leadership as a Controller, Plant Manager, and CFO across the automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, and construction industries. With a foundation in disciplined accounting and strategic finance, he has a strong record of strengthening companies through better systems, tighter controls, and forward-looking decision-making.
As a seasoned Fractional CFO, John designs financial infrastructures that improve profitability, optimize cash flow, and increase enterprise value. He has led multiple turnarounds and complex growth initiatives, earning a reputation for clarity, confidence, and measurable results—especially in high-pressure environments.
Outside of work, John enjoys staying active through workouts and hiking adventures.
Marinelle Moore, CPA
Tax Manager
With 10+ years of experience in tax planning, compliance, auditing, corporate accounting, and advisory, Marinelle ensures clients stay ahead of regulations, minimize their tax liabilities while structuring their finances for long-term success.
She is known for translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights so clients can make confident decisions. She works closely with business owners to strengthen accounting systems, improve tax efficiency, and support sustainable growth.
Committed to professional excellence, Marinelle continually sharpens her expertise to keep pace with evolving tax laws and best practices. Outside of work, she enjoys karate, hiking, and spending time with her husband and baby.
